Becareful with the New “Virus via Email” Modality

Virus email that looks like official email from Amazon

Virus email that looks like official email from Amazon

It has come to our attention that hackers are now using email templates that look just like emails from Godaddy, Amazon,  FaceBook and other authoritative sites to infect users with viruses. They also mask their email addresses to appear as valid emails from these websites like sales@godaddy.com.

The best way to go about this is to make sure you have a powerful anti-virus but also make sure you do not click on any of the links on that email as they will send you to malicious or infected sites.

You will notice (on certain browsers like Firefox) this by hovering over the link and seeing where the links point to.

Hopefully this post can serve as a warning and prevent you from clicking and getting infected. Just be on the lookout for any emails from Amazon, Facebook and Godaddy – do not click on the links, it’s better if you go straight to those sites from your browser.
